A dealership known for serving and supporting the military has changed hands.
Patriot Buick-GMC in Killeen, Texas, has been acquired by Ancira Automotive Group from previous owner John Kliewer, according to Haig Partners, which represented the seller in the transaction.
The dealership, located near the U.S. Army’s Fort Cavazos (formerly Fort Hood), has been in business 34 years, working with servicemembers and taking an active role in the community.
“Patriot has been more than just a business,” Kliewer said. “It’s been a part of our family and a part of this incredible community. It has been our greatest honor to serve generations of customers with honesty, personal care and a deep respect for the men and women of Fort Hood and the greater Killeen area.”
Ancira said all current Patriot employees will be retained in the transition to new ownership.
“Our team has always been the foundation of our success,” Kliewer said. “Their dedication to our customers and our values is what made this dealership what it is today. We are thrilled they will continue to be part of its future. We’re incredibly grateful for the trust and support of our customers, our team and this wonderful community over the past 34 years.”
Kliewer said the changing automotive landscape played a major role in his decision to sell the dealership.
“The environment is very different from when we first opened our doors,” he said. “In evaluating how best to position the dealership for future success, we knew it was time to pass the torch to a group with the resources, reach and expertise to thrive in this new era.
“It was important to us to find a buyer that aligned with our values and would carry on the tradition of supporting our employees, customers and community.”
Ancira, based in San Antonio, operates 12 locations in South and Central Texas.
Reed Automotive acquires its first Ford store
Reed Automotive Group has acquired Max Ford of Harrisonville in Harrisonville, Mo., from Mark Muller and Bob Jacaway in a deal brokered by Pinnacle Mergers & Acquisitions.
“Reed Auto Group has a strong track record and shared values,” Pinnacle executive vice president Wes Hamilton said, “making this a natural match. We’re proud to help bring the two groups together.”
The dealership, which has been renamed Reed Ford, is the first Ford franchise for the company, led by Randy Reed and his sons Trevin and Tyler. The group now operates five locations in Missouri and Kansas.
