Shottenkirk Automotive Group has entered new territory.
The dealership group, based in Texas and Iowa, has acquired Subaru of Jacksonville in Jacksonville, Fla., from the Porter family, according to Heritage Capital Group, which represented the seller in the transaction.
The dealership is the first in Florida for Shottenkirk, which now operates 28 dealership locations in seven states. It’s also the company’s first Subaru store.
Shottenkirk Automotive began in 1964, when Bob Shottenkirk and a partner opened Dean and Bob’s Chevrolet in Abingdon, Ill., and is now led by his son Greg.
Subaru of Jacksonville, established in 2000 by Phil Porter Sr., has earned multiple awards, including honors for customer satisfaction for dealership service from J.D. Power, and for customer loyalty and safety from the American Customer Satisfaction Index.
The Jacksonville Daily Record reported Porter plans to retire.
