Carvana’s growing list of combined auction-reconditioning facilities will soon include one in the New York area.
The online used-car retailer said it’s adding an inspection and reconditioning center to ADESA Long Island in Yaphank, N.Y. — the 10th such integration to be added in 2025 — which the company said will expand recon capacity and service offerings for retail and wholesale customers in the New York metropolitan area.
ADESA Long Island has been operating as a wholesale auto auction for more than 20 years has served wholesale customers for more than 20 years. Carvana said the 50-acre site with more than 3,000 parking spaces offers the necessary infrastructure to add inspection and recon operations.
The company expects about 100 new jobs will be created by the integration.
“Integrating IRC capabilities at ADESA Long Island helps us continue to drive a faster, more convenient car-buying experience as we enable more capacity and efficiency in the Carvana network,” Carvana senior vice president of inventory Brian Boyd said. “We look forward to bringing more speed and selection to our local retail customers while strengthening our wholesale auction platform for commercial partners throughout the region.”
Carvana’s announcement adds to its physical presence on Long Island, which began in 2023 with a car vending machine in Garden City.
As in other markets with an auction-recon site, Carvana said the integration will create a new pool of retail inventory, giving area customers more vehicles that can be delivered as soon as the next day, and the on-site inspection and recon will improve services for ADESA’s wholesale customers.

The company said its proprietary software platform, CARLI, will power the site’s transition to an IRC-enabled facility.
