The No. 1 Buick and GMC dealer in Alabama is now part of the brands’ dealer advisory group.

Taylor Bentley Conner, dealer principal of Howard Bentley Buick GMC in Albertville, Ala., has been appointed as a Southeast Region representative to the Buick GMC National Dealer Council, the dealership announced.

Conner will serve a three-year term on the 10-member council, which includes two dealer representatives from each of five regions nationally.

The Buick GMC National Dealer Council serves as a forum for collaboration between General Motors and its nationwide network of dealerships, allowing dealer perspectives to help shape brand strategy, strengthen operations and enhance the customer experience.

The council works closely with Buick GMC senior leadership to sustain dealership profitability, advance innovation and foster engagement across the dealer network.

As a council member, Conner will serve as a representative voice for franchised dealerships in the Southeast, conveying dealer priorities and perspectives to GM leadership to help ensure the dealer experience remains strong, profitable and aligned with evolving market needs. She will collaborate with industry peers and Buick GMC executives to advocate for dealers and provide insights that shape future vehicle strategies and brand initiatives.

“At Howard Bentley Buick GMC, we’ve learned that lasting success comes from putting customers first, investing in our people and showing up every day willing to do the work,” Conner said. “It’s truly an honor to bring those lessons to the table as we partner with Buick GMC and fellow dealers to continue strengthening the brand and serving customers nationwide.

“I’m especially grateful for the opportunity to represent dealers of all sizes across the Southeast, because none of this is possible without every dealership and every team member working together on the GM side. More than anything, I believe progress comes from alignment, not always agreement, and I’m humbled to play even a small part in that work moving forward.”

Conner has served as her dealership’s general manager since 2018 and took over as dealer principal in 2024 — the first woman to hold that position. She is the granddaughter of Howard Bentley, who founded the store in 1983.

Under her leadership, Howard Bentley Buick GMC ranked as Alabama’s No. 1 in sales for both the Buick and GMC brands in 2025 and No. 8 nationally for GMC. The dealership has earned GMC Dealer of the Year honors, which recognizes the top 1% of dealers nationwide.

Conner also serves on the Board of Citizens Bank & Trust and was recognized as Albertville’s Citizen of the Year for her community involvement.
