What prompted/inspired you to join the auto industry and what do you enjoy most about it?
I was fortunate to be introduced to this industry through an unexpected invitation from my husband’s best friend’s mother. One day, out of the blue, she asked if I would consider working for the National Auto Auction Association, describing the auto auction industry as vibrant, hardworking, and filled with incredible people. She was absolutely right. I am deeply grateful for that introduction to an industry that is constantly evolving, growing, and pushing forward. It has been a privilege to be part of such a dynamic community, and I feel truly honored to contribute to and grow alongside it.
What is the top trend you’re watching in the used-car industry this year?
There are many trends currently shaping the used-car industry in positive ways, which is exciting to see. One particularly encouraging trend is the increase in volume at auto auctions. After several years of tighter inventory, watching supply begin to return to the lanes highlights the strong growth potential for auctions in the years ahead. As inventory levels rise, auctions continue to play a critical role in price discovery, efficiency, and connecting buyers and sellers across the industry.
What accomplishment are you most proud of in your career?
I have been fortunate to serve in roles focused on membership, and the accomplishments I am most proud of center around creating meaningful value for the members we serve. Whether it is coordinating the details that make an industry event impactful, developing training opportunities that provide members with the tools and information they need to succeed, or helping foster connections across the industry, my focus has always been on strengthening the member experience. Knowing that these efforts help members feel supported, informed, and connected is incredibly rewarding, and playing a role in bringing those moments to life has been one of the highlights of my career.
What book, film or song has inspired you personally or professionally?
I have favorite books that have shaped me in different ways, both personally and professionally. The overarching book that guides me in all aspects of life is the Bible, which provides the foundation for how I approach leadership, service, and relationships. In the area of customer service, I greatly value “Unreasonable Hospitality” by Will Guidara, which offers powerful insight into creating exceptional experiences for others. For introspection and personal development, the classic “How to Win Friends and Influence People” by Dale Carnegie remains one of the most impactful books I’ve read, and one I believe is worth revisiting regularly.
Who is someone who has inspired you personally or professionally?
Personally, my parents have been two of the greatest influences in my life. From a young age, my father instilled in me the importance of hard work and striving for excellence in everything I do. My mother has always led by example through her kindness and willingness to put others before herself, demonstrating what true servant leadership looks like.
Professionally, I am incredibly grateful to work alongside Chris Angelicchio. I am continually impressed by his depth of knowledge across every facet of the industry and his unwavering dedication to it. His passion and expertise are truly inspiring. I often joke that he is the “ChatGPT of the used-car industry,” and I feel very fortunate and honored to learn from and work with him each day.
