What prompted/inspired you to join the auto industry and what do you enjoy most about it?
I grew up in the auto industry.  My parents owned three independent dealerships, so it was always a part of my life from an early age. One of my favorite memories was attending auctions with my dad.  Being there with him and seeing the energy in the auction lanes is really what drew me to the wholesale side of the business.

What I enjoy most are the relationships I’ve built over the years. I’m fortunate to work in the same area where I grew up, surrounded by many of the same people who have been part of this industry for years. Many of them watched me grow up. For me the auto industry is more than just business — it’s personal. The relationships, the history, & the shared experiences are what make it so rewarding.

What is the top trend you’re watching in the used-car industry this year?
One of top trends I’m watching in the used car industry this year is the continued growth of online and digital wholesale platforms. While the traditional auction lanes still play an important role, the digital side of the business continues to grow and evolve. Dealers are increasingly more comfortable buying vehicles online, and continuously improving technology is helping make the process more transparent and efficient.

What accomplishment are you most proud of in your career?

Receiving this recognition is certainly one of the most meaningful accomplishments I’m most proud of in my career.  What makes it even more special is the path that led me here.  I truly started from the ground up in this business. I began working as a title clerk and block clerk, learning every part of auction operations along the way. Through hard work, dedication, and a strong work ethic, I continued to grow and take on more responsibility, eventually working my way up to the position I hold today as general manager.  Looking back, the journey itself and the work ethic that got me here are what I’m definitely most proud of.

What book, film or song has inspired you personally or professionally?
One film that has inspired me both personally and professionally is “The Blind Side.” What resonates with me the most about the story is the message that belief, support, and opportunity can completely change the direction of someone’s life.

The film is a powerful reminder that sometimes all people need is someone who sees their value and is willing to give them a chance. That message translates into my professional life as well. In business- and especially in the auto industry- relationships, mentorship, and believing in people can make a huge difference.  The movie reinforces the importance of looking beyond the surface, supporting others, and helping people grow. It highlights the impact that leadership, compassion, and encouragement can have both in life and in a career.

Who is someone who has inspired you personally or professionally?
Someone who has inspired me most, both personally and professionally, is my father.  He taught me what it truly means to be a good businessperson — not just by working hard, but by leading with strong morals and integrity. He always believed that your reputation in your community matters and that being fair, honest and approachable is just as important as being successful.

He also showed me the importance of treating people well. My dad is always one to help anyone, he led his dealerships with a warm heart and a way of making people feel comfortable. He balanced that with a great sense of humor and a little sarcasm, which made people naturally gravitate toward him.

Growing up I watched how much people respected him, this made a lasting impression on me, and all of his attributes are qualities I’ve always tried to model in my own life and career. I’ve always wanted to be known as someone who is fair, honest, hardworking, and someone others enjoy doing business with.
