Auto Data Direct Rolls Out Bilingual NMVTIS Vehicle History Reports

Auto Data Direct and the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System recently added bilingual vehicle history reports to its array of products.
Officials recapped that NMVTIS reports, containing DMV title data, salvage information and total loss reports, are federal vehicle histories designed to protect consumers from fraud and unsafe vehicles.
By offering the report in both English and Spanish, ADD indicated its newest product is just in time for dealers looking to comply with California’s new-vehicle history requirement, which goes into effect on July 1.
The company reminded California dealers that under the new law, they must pull a NMVTIS vehicle history for each used vehicle offered for retail sale. And if the report indicates a junk or salvage history, the dealer must apply a red warning label to the vehicle.
Additionally, ADD mentioned the dealer must provide a copy of the NMVTIS report to the buyer at the time of sale, if requested.
“Our team is always looking at ways we can enhance our services to benefit both our corporate customers and consumers,” ADD president Jim Taylor said.
“Whether in California, Florida, or other areas with large Hispanic populations, fulfilling the needs of a bilingual community is a service we identified as critically important,” Taylor continued. “We’re very pleased to be the first NMVTIS provider to offer this unique consumer protection product.”
Taylor went on to point out there is no additional charge to access the bilingual NMVTIS report through ADD.
California dealers may also order the required salvage warning labels from ADD in either English or Spanish.
A bilingual vehicle history is not the only way ADD has prepared for an increased demand from California businesses.
“We’ve taken additional steps to ensure that our customer service staff are prepared to take calls from dealers whose primary language is Spanish,” Taylor highlighted.
Furthermore, ADD added three bilingual customer service representatives and extended its customer service hours to serve West Coast dealerships. Live customer service is now available to answer questions from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. ET.
