AutoCanada Gains Two VW Dealerships

AutoCanada revealed Thursday that it has added two Volkswagen stores in British Columbia to its dealer network. The company is purchasing two stores formerly under the Valley Autohouse name in Abbotsford and Chilliwack.
These dealerships will now go by the names Abbotsford Volkswagen and Chilliwack Volkswagen.
The stores went into receivership on Oct. 27 and operations were halted. However, the stores are now slated to kick back into gear next week.
“We are extremely pleased to expand our presence in the Fraser Valley, a very strong market within one of our existing dealership platforms,” stated Pat Priestner, AutoCanada’s chief executive officer.
“We are excited to continue to build our relationship with Volkswagen Canada, and we believe that VW will continue to be one of the fastest growing brands in North America,” Priestner continued.
The roughly 9,300-square-foot Abbotsford facility has a six-car showroom and eight service bays. It began running in 1986 and sold about 190 used cars last year, with new sales coming in at 201.
Meanwhile, the Chilliwack store is about 4,500-square feet, has a single-car showroom and features three service bays. It opened in 2002. It had about 40 used sales last year and around 30 new sales.
