Dealertrack Technologies’ Tradetracker Used Vehicle Market Report for May shows that consistency has been king.
The Ford F-150 was the most-appraised vehicle in Canada last month. It also held the same top spot when looking at three-month and year-to-date trending.
The other most-appraised vehicles last month, in order, were the Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic sedan, Mazda 3 and Ford Escape.
When looking at three-month and year-to-date data, the Corolla was consistenly No. 2 and the Mazda 3 was consistently No. 4.
The GMC Sierra 1500 holds the No. 3 spot for three-month and year-to-date trending, but the Civic earned that spot for May.
The Civic was No. 5 on three-month trending and the Ram 1500 was fifth year-to-date.
The F-150 also was the top domestic vehicle looked at by domestic owners in May, over the last three months and year-to-date.
However the F-150 was supplanted last month by the Escape as the top domestic vehicle looked at by import owners. It still holds the top spot for three-month and year-to-date trending.
The Rav4 remained both the top import vehicle looked at by import owners and domestic owners alike.
Tradetracker’s brand of the month, Hyundai, showed similar patterns of consistency. The top three vehicles looked at by trade-in customers at Hyundai dealerships were the Elantra, the Tucson and the Accent — for May, three-month and year-to-date periods.
The top three off-make vehicles appraised at Hyundai dealerships in May were the Mazda 3, Civic Sedan and Ford Focus. The Corolla was No. 3 in both three-month and year-to-date measures.
