During the recent holiday season, Atlanta-based Jim Ellis Automotive distributed funds raised by its 23rd annual charity golf tournament over the summer.

The tournament, which began as a company picnic and golf outing, is a cooperative effort of the Ellis family, Jim Ellis team member volunteers, business partners and vendors. The 2023 event, held in August at Chateau Elan in Braselton, Ga., raised a record $146,000, boosting the total since the tournament’s inception to more than $1.5 million.

After the tournament each year, Jim Ellis team members nominate local charities they would like to see supported with the funds raised. The missional focus for the money is to support organizations that help women and children in need in the Atlanta area, but all team member nominations are considered to receive some level of funding.

This year, 30 charities were selected by the tournament committee.
