Fla. Dealers Gear Up for Pre-Owned Road Shows
CARY, N.C. — Dealers in Orlando and Tampa are gearing up to be a part of the Pre-Owned Road Shows, free events that will provide dealers with the latest information, tools and skills for selling more pre-owned units and profiting more in their pre-owned operations.
These special training events, sponsored by the Pre-Owned Auto Dealers Alliance, will be in Tampa on Feb. 11 at the Crowne Plaza Tampa Westshore, and in Orlando on Feb. 16 at the Orlando Marriott Downtown. Dealers can register to attend and find out more information at www.poada.biz/roadshow.
Each of the following presenters will speak for 15 minutes, followed by a panel discussion.
CARFAX: Jay Luna, process improvement manager, presenting "Put Yourself in Your Customer's Shoes to Close More Deals"
Luna's presentation aims to help dealers evaluate used-car shopper behavior and learn how to exceed their potential customers' expectations. He will help dealers learn how to take advantage of CARFAX's tools and technology to make informed decisions and turn cars faster.
DealerTrack: Keith Platt, dealer services manager for the Southeast region, leading "Secrets to Driving Used-Car Profits"
In his presentation, Platt will give dealers insight into how dealers across the country are closing more trades, finding the right inventory, speeding up turn rates and earning greater profits on less inventory. He'll explain how DealerTrack's technology now uncovers transactional "real-time market ROI," turn time and market day supply by vehicle make, model series and mileage tailored to a dealer's market area.
LaserAppraiser: Jeff Boone, president, will present "Mobility — Live, Realtime, Anywhere, Anytime"
Boone will show dealers how Laser Appraiser's live information can help dealers buy the right cars for the right price, thus improving profits.
APCO: Dave DeCredico, senior vice president of marketing and insurance, presenting "CarMark Certified — Certify Your Success"
Customers are looking for certified pre-owned vehicles, and dealers can increase profits and decrease turn time by selling certified vehicles. DeCredico will introduce dealers to the brand-new CarMark Certified program, which will allow dealers to apply the power of the OEM CPO programs to every pre-owned vehicle on their lots.
BlackBook: Jerry Petrotto, vice president of sales, will lead "Better Leads — Increased Traffic — More Sales"
Customers today do a lot of online research prior to stepping onto a dealer's lot. Petrotto will discuss with dealers how to capture online shoppers and get them into the showroom.
Manheim: Amanda Savage, director of The Wholesale Institute, will present "How to Utilize Manheim's Best Practices for Online/In Lane Buying & Selling"
This workshop is designed to help dealers in developing best practices for buying and selling wholesale inventory in an online channel. Savage will expose dealers to online buying process and tools and help them learn and share online buying and selling tricks of the trade. Savage's goal is for the workshop to help dealers overcome their objections to doing business in a new channel.
Kelley Blue Book: Sean Seltzer, national business development manager, "Are your Used Vehicles on KBB.com?" (Orlando Road Show only)
Seltzer will share the online inventory marketing solution that gets dealers' used cars on kbb.com. He will explain how dealers can price, manage and market their inventory on kbb.com and other sites like Craigslist, Cars.com and AutoTrader.com all in one easy and affordable solution.
Participation in the Road Show is free to any dealer, and speakers' presentation slides will be made available following the event.
