instaVIN Expands Vehicle History Report Data

Vehicle history report provider instaVIN revealed this week a series of expansions and new offerings.
Within its reports, the company now provides key ownership records and additional theft records, as well as other new information, officials noted.
This new information comes on top of the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System-sourced DMV title, brand, insurance total loss, junkyard and salvage auction, odometer, and accident information that instaVIN already provides in its history reports.
Commenting on the news, Jim Irish, chief executive officer of instaVIN.com, said, "This data is critically valuable to our client base of consumers, dealers and commercial clients to help them make good decisions.
"instaVIN continues to provide significant value by providing more data and better reports for less cost,” he added.
The company also went on to highlight in more detail the added elements to its vehicle history reports.
First, the specific, real-time information added to instaVIN Vehicle History and Title Reports includes open lien data, which officials noted is sourced from auto lenders and shows if the vehicle has a current open lien of bank loan.
Next, open theft data, sourced from law enforcement, shows if the vehicle is reported to be an active theft. Moreover, recovered theft information shows if the vehicle has been reported as recovered.
And towing/impound information now included in the reports includes historic impound records, sourced from the U.S. government.
In case the vehicle has been set to make a trip out of the country, export records, sourced from U.S. Customs, shows if the vehicle has been presented for exportation.
Lastly, listed for sale information informs dealers of online listing events for vehicles listed with eBayMotors.com.
“Unlike other major vehicle history report services, instaVIN data is available for virtually all vehicle types including passenger cars and light trucks, classic cars, (RVs), motorcycles and heavy trucks,” officials explained.
“Special dealer rates are available to qualified dealers through the dealer program. instaVIN works with domestic and international distributors and the data can be customized to an organization’s specific needs,” they continued.
