CARMEL, Ind. — This week, KAR Auction Services promoted a longtime member of its management team to the role of executive vice president of corporate development and real estate.

Now reporting directly to KAR chief executive officer Jim Hallett in this position is Warren Byrd, who has been with the company since 1994.

"Warren has been instrumental in the growth and success of ADESA, and the entire KAR family of companies will now benefit from his unique skill set and vast experience," Hallett stated.

The company recounted that Byrd has served in a variety of roles within the KAR family of companies.

First in 1994, Byrd joined ADESA as the company's legal counsel. Five years later, the company shifted him to vice president of corporate development.

Then in 2001, Byrd was promoted to senior vice president of information services. A year after that promotion, Byrd took on the role of president of ADESA Impact, a salvage auction subsidiary management pointed out that he helped to acquire.

Byrd most recently served as the executive vice president of corporate development for ADESA, a position he has held since 2007.

"KAR Auction Services is committed to creating facilities of the highest quality — sites that are both attractive, yet highly functional," Byrd emphasized.

"I have always felt a great sense of ownership in a company I helped grow, and I am honored to oversee the further development of KAR through acquisitions and facility expansions," Byrd concluded.
