ATLANTA -
Manheim recently announced that a state association of independent dealers bestowed one of its leaders with two prestigious awards at the group’s annual convention.
Manheim Daytona Beach general manager Eric Wagner received the 2010 Auction Person of the Year Award from the Florida Independent Automobile Dealers Association, which also gave Wagner the association’s Silver Eagle award.
The latter award recognizes Wagner for his “outstanding” help in FIADA recruitment.
The association handed Wagner both awards at the 2010 FIADA Fast Cars & Freedom Convention, which took place in St. Petersburg, Fla., in mid-October.
FIADA also spotlighted Wagner for planning and setting up an April special town hall meeting and training session in Daytona Beach that was geared toward independent dealers, as well as for bringing in 26 new members. Officials said it only took Wagner roughly three months to recruit the new members.
“Through his servant leadership and commitment to excellence for customers and employees, Eric has distinguished himself as a top performer in Florida’s auto industry,” stated Steve Jordan, FIADA chief executive officer and executive director.
“Because of Eric’s dedication to growing the FIADA member base, the voice of independent dealers in Florida has gotten much stronger, and the industry is better because of it,” he continued.
Offering his commentary, Jay Cadigan, market vice president, Manheim, added: “Eric is an outstanding individual and we are extremely proud of his achievements.
“His efforts to help build ongoing education for independent dealers in Florida is an example of how we can all do our part to further support our dealers, our industry and our communities,” Cadigan concluded.
