Manheim Touts Early Success of RV Sales
ATLANTA — Manheim Specialty Auctions recently rolled out its Platinum RV Collections Sales series at two of its locations, and following some initial success, it plans to bring this monthly sale to other auctions throughout the country.
Two different Manheim facilities currently host these sales once a month, and it is also available via Manheim Simulcast. The sales feature top-notch, highline RVs with values of at least $75,000.
The event was first brought to Manheim Lakeland in February. After strong results there, it was brought to Manheim Tucson in June. Because these two locations had a great deal of success, Manheim plans to add more locations in the next few months, one of which is slated to be Manheim Dallas-Fort Worth.
The first Tucson sale included more than 160 buyers — in-lane and online combined. Bank of American sold all of the inventory it offered that day.
"Our customers have told us that the key to successful customized sales is having enough specialized inventory to make attendance worthwhile," stated Jeanie Hinz, general manager of Manheim Tucson. "The positive results from our first sale confirm that Manheim is definitely meeting the needs of these buyers."
The special sale is held at Manheim Lakeland on the first Tuesday of each month at 2 p.m. (EST), while Manheim Tucson hosts its sale at 3 p.m. (PST) on the fourth Tuesday of every month.
"We are constantly looking for new ways to improve the auction experience for our customers by listening closely to their unique needs," stated Karen Braddy, general manager of Manheim Specialty and Heavy Truck & Equipment.
"Our highline RV buyers and sellers have told us that the diversity of products within the RV category often means they waste valuable time searching for just the right configuration — and that feedback drove the creation of our Platinum program," Braddy continued.
