MONTVALE, N.J. -

On Monday, Mercedes-Benz USA appointed a new general manager of pre-owned and fleet operations to replace Bart Herring, who has been named general manager of product management.

Promoted to the pre-owned/fleet position is Mark Webster, who will step into this role on May 1. His most recent post was as the company’s area manager for the Northeast region.

Webster has been with MBUSA since 2001, and his time with the company has included a position as departmental manager of national pre-owned sales.

Webster’s responsibilities in his new position will include all pre-owned vehicles, remarketing programs and fleet operations. He will report to senior vice president of sales Mike Slagter.

As for Herring, his appointment to serve as general manager of product management was effective immediately. He fills the spot of Bernie Glaser, who was recently named vice president of marketing for MBUSA.
