Mercedes-Benz Financial Names New Remarketing Leader
FORT WORTH, Texas — Mercedes-Benz Financial will have a new head of remarketing beginning next month to replace Jeff Gartland, who is moving over to the company's business center operations to head up that segment on Sept. 1.
In turn, Horacio Trujillo was named to head up remarketing. He has been with the company since 1999. Trujillo has experience working in various areas of Mercedes-Benz Financial's remarketing segment. This includes time working in reporting and customer and asset strategies during the last six years.
Continuing on, when Trujillo assumes responsibility for his new post on Sept. 1, his duties will entail management of remarketing processes. Included in these responsibilities are working with Mercedes-Benz USA in regards to customer and asset strategies.
In the new role, Trujillo will report to Janet Marzett, who is the vice president of collections, customer service and remarketing.
Before he came over to the remarketing side, Trujillo served in the risk management department at Mercedes-Benz Financial's Farmington Hills, Mich., headquarters.
Offering a bit about Trujillo's history, management said he joined Mercedes-Benz Financial 11 years ago, starting as an associate in the executive leadership program. In this capacity, Trujillo spent two years working in a number of arenas, including fleet credit, business development, collections, remarketing and operations in Latin America.
As far as Gartland, his new duties will include overseeing the company's credit, funding and internal operations in the U.S. In his new role, Gartland will report to Mark Ingram, vice president of Mercedes-Benz Financial sales and field operations.
Meanwhile, heading up Mercedes-Benz Financial collections will be Tom O'Connor, who is taking over for Sam Ridlon. His duties will consist of leading the overall strategic direction for that department, as well as Daimler Truck Financial small business collections. O'Connor will report to Marzett, as well.
Ridlon is moving over to parent company Daimler Financial in Germany to begin a similar job.
Editor's Note: Trujillo will serve as a speaker at the 2010 National Remarketing Conference, which is is slated for Nov. 10-12 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego. NRC will follow the 2010 CPO Forum, which is set for Nov. 8-9 at the same location.
He will join three other of the industry's top remarketing executives for an opening keynote panel titled "How Smart Remarketing Helped Save the Automotive Industry."
