ATLANTA — As National Auto Auction Week rolls on through Friday, officials from Manheim stressed that this year's special week carries extra meaning for the company.

The reason: company employees also are celebrating Manheim's 65th anniversary.

As a result, each of Manheim's 81 locations within North America will participate in National Auto Auction Week, an endeavor sponsored by the National Auto Auction Association. NAAA created the initiative to increase the public's awareness of the auto auction industry and its contributions.

"As we celebrate our 65th anniversary this year, National Auto Auction Week is a great time to reflect on the hard work that our employees are doing each day for our customers and their communities," noted Manheim president and chief executive officer Dean Eisner.

"Auctions play a vital role in the auto industry and we thank NAAA for recognizing their importance," Eisner added.

Manheim reiterated that several of its employees play active roles in NAAA, including association treasurer Mike Broe and Jay Cadigan, who is slated to be installed as the association's new president at its annual convention in September.

Cadigan stressed that his goals as NAAA president are focused on reaching out to young and inactive members to develop the next generation of leaders, providing opportunities for existing members to actively engage on meaningful issues and promoting the implementation of standards to increase customer confidence.

"There is tremendous benefit in auctions working together to provide customers with the services they need and to build their confidence in industry-wide standards," Cadigan declared.

"I look forward to joining with leaders from across the industry as we roll up our sleeves and work hard on behalf of the industry to increase our collective success," he added.
