OPENLANE Details Year-Over-Year Growth
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — OPENLANE officials highlighted their "record-breaking" performance levels on Monday, ticking off across-the-board growth during the second quarter.
The company indicated its U.S. open auction at OPENLANE.com broke quarterly sales records thanks to year-over-year growth of 14 percent. Turning north, executives mentioned OPENLANE's Canadian business during the second quarter grew by more than 50 percent year-over-year.
Furthermore, the company touted that its transportation service, CarsArrive, continues to experience remarkable growth. Officials said they increased the number of vehicle moves by more than 100 percent on year-over-year comparison. They believe the growth indicates strong demand for OPENLANE transportation services.
"Together OPENLANE's sales and transportation records represent the tremendous value that the company's online auction and full set of end-to-end, value-added services bring to automotive dealers throughout North America," the company emphasized.
Executives attributed their performance to increased focus on new value-added services and partnerships. They contend the recent launch of OPENLANE's iDEAL Open Seller program throughout Canada, as well as the program's continued success throughout the United States, has created a significant boost in dealer-to-dealer sales for the company in addition to its open auction sales at http://www.openlane.com/.
In addition to its iDEAL seller programs, the company previously revealed that CarsArrive had been named the sole transportation solution for Volkswagen Credit, providing full service transportation management services for all Volkswagen Credit and Audi Financial Services vehicles being transported nationwide.
"OPENLANE continues to consistently break sales records during the first half of 2010, carrying over the strong momentum we had throughout 2009," stated Daniel Farrar, chief executive of OPENLANE.
"Our quest to bring value and innovative programs to the remarketing process results in both an expanded number of partner programs and new value-added services, such as third-party inspections and embedded vehicle history reports, to significantly enhance the online experience for our dealers and consignors," Farrar concluded.
