ALEXANDRIA, Va. -

As the graduation for the first Auction Academy class nears, a similar program for dealers was announced Wednesday. The American International Automobile Dealers Association revealed  a new program designed to engage up-and-coming dealers and future industry leaders.

AIADA described its new Rising Dealers Network as “an initiative aimed at engaging up-and-coming members of the international nameplate auto retail industry.”

Commenting on the news, AIADA president Cody Lusk said, “Today’s young leaders are the key to our industry’s future. They have a unique understanding of the strategies and practices that will carry the auto retail industry into the coming years. We look forward to integrating their insight and experience into AIADA’s mission through the Rising Dealers Network.”

AIADA’s Rising Dealers Network will work to recruit up-and-coming dealer principals, general managers and department heads.

“By connecting them with one another, as well as with AIADA, the program intends to highlight the growing contributions of young dealers, enhance their careers, and create a national network of engaged and active advocates for the international nameplate auto retail industry,” AIADA officials explained.

AIADA will kick off its new initiative with a reception for members of the Rising Dealers Network at AIADA’s 8th Annual International Auto Industry Summit on May 7-8 in Washington, D.C.

The network will also offer webinars throughout the year on topics such as leadership and how to best communicate with members of Congress, AIADA explained.
