Black Book Names VP of Automotive Licensing

Black Book has a new vice president of automotive licensing.
Promoted to the position was Jared Kalfus, who will continue his responsibility for leading Black Book’s efforts to increase data licensing revenue to OEMs, dealers and value-added resellers who serve the dealer community, the company said Wednesday.
Kalfus’ most recent position was Black Book’s director of automotive licensing.
Tom Cross, president of Black Book, said, “Since Jared’s arrival at Black Book, the Automotive Licensing division has seen significant growth and continues to branch out in new directions. His team has expanded Black Book’s customer base, developed stronger ties with end users, and worked to provide unique automotive data driven solutions to its partners.”
Highlighting the exec’s history in the industry, Kalfus began his automotive career with Enterprise Rent a Car, and later joined CarsDirect.com, helping to grow the business into a leading automotive e-commerce destination.
Then, he moved to Manheim to help launch POINT, one of the original dealership inventory management systems, and was soon promoted to executive director of sales operations for the Western United States.
Prior to joining Black Book, he was the VP of sales of Digital Air Strike, a social media and reputation management company serving the automotive industry.
“I’m looking forward to assuming greater responsibility at Black Book. Through my entire automotive career, I’ve always relied on Black Book’s wide array of vehicle values and related services. We have launched many new products and significantly upgraded our existing ones within the past year, and it’s been really gratifying to see our customers’ reactions when we show them what we can do to help them grow their businesses and work more efficiently”, said Kalfus.
