RICHMOND, Va. -

Four days after announcing plans to build its first hub in Georgia, CarLotz said Monday it has opened three new hubs, including its first in California.

The new hubs are in Bakersfield, Calif.; Clearwater, Fla.; and Highland Park, Ill.

The addition of these three hubs in California, Florida and Illinois means CarLotz now has 15 hubs

“Today marks a milestone for our company,” CarLotz co-founder and chief executive officer Michael Bor said in a news release.

“This is our first hub opening in the Golden State of California, our third hub in Florida and our second location in Illinois,” he continued. “I am grateful to our teammates who worked with incredible determination to ensure these three hubs open in one day — all in different time zones. We look forward to welcoming guests to these new locations.”

CarLotz’s hub locations are located in Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Illinois, Tennessee, Texas, Washington State and California. It is planning to open hubs in Colorado and Missouri soon.

The company said Thursday it would be opening a hub in Lilburn, Ga., to serve customers in the Atlanta area.

“We believe that being national in reach is critical but serving local communities is a competitive advantage,” Bor said in a news release. “We have sold cars on consignment for and sold cars to Georgians through our online marketplace for years, and now, we are thrilled to open this hub that will serve area guests with even greater ease and convenience.

“We are excited to be able to provide guests in Georgia with greater access to our consignment model while also becoming a part of the community in which our teammates live and work,” Bor continued.
