CarMax Holds Online Charity Event to Celebrate Opening of Tennessee Store

As the company projected in quarterly reports, CarMax officially opened its first store in Franklin, Tenn., this week.
The newest CarMax location is situated at 4075 Mallory Lane and includes a showroom consisting of more than 32,481 square feet on 8.42 acres. The company is employing more than 50 associates and stocking 250 to 350 used vehicles at this new store.
In celebration of the newest CarMax dealership to open in greater Nashville, the company is hosting an online “Road Rally for Charity” contest, which launched on the CarMax Facebook page.
CarMax is donating a total of $5,000 to three local nonprofits who are “competing” for votes. The organizations, selected for their commitment to youth leadership, education and wellness, are the Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee, Junior Achievement of Middle Tennessee and the American Heart Association of Greater Nashville.
During the contest, CarMax explained, supporters of the selected charities can go to the CarMax Facebook page to cast their vote for one of the charities. Each charity will receive a donation of $1,000 just for participating.
Officials indicated that the charity that receives the most votes will receive an additional $2,000 donation. Voting ends on June 25. The winning charity will be announced on the CarMax Facebook page at www.facebook.com/CarMax.
“We’re proud to support these organizations as we open our newest store — Cool Springs — in the greater Nashville region,” said Tom Folliard, president and chief executive officer of CarMax.
“Giving back to the communities where our associates live and work is an important part of who we are as a company,” Folliard added.
