Thanks to a partnership announced Wednesday between Motor Trend Certified and Carfax, all vehicles in the national certification program must now come with a Carfax Vehicle History Report and quality for the Carfax Buyback Guarantee.

These, of course, are on top of the requirements under the Motor Trend Certified national guidelines.

“Combining Motor Trend Certified and Carfax creates strong value for the in-market consumers researching and shopping for Pre-Owned vehicles,” stated Ira Gabriel, vice president and executive director of the Motor Trend Certified program.

“Motor Trend Certified Pre-Owned vehicles are inspected to Motor Trend national standards, guaranteed with a comprehensive extended warranty and now will be highlighted on Carfax Vehicle History Reports that they are Motor Trend Certified,” Gabriel continued.

“Used-car shoppers expect to get a Carfax Vehicle History Report for every car they consider buying,” said Larry Gamache, communications director at Carfax. “Joining two trusted brands like Carfax and Motor Trend benefits both buyers and sellers. Motor Trend Certified dealers have another way to build consumer confidence and consumers have the Carfax Report and inspection – two key steps in the purchase process – already done for them.”
