ATLANTA -

As fall got underway in September, a few segments and models stood out as particularly hard to find, according to the latest installment of vehicle scarcity date that is provided monthly to Auto Remarketing by AutoTrader.com.

SUVs and some trucks populated the lists once again in September, and  another segment showed up that normally loses ground with consumers as cooler weather rolls around: muscle cars.

Making their way onto the lists this September, popular muscle car models proved hard to find across the country, both certified pre-owned and used models.

The CPO Ford Mustang came in No. 9 in Boston (it was not on the list in that DMA the previous month) and at No. 5 in Washington, D.C. (up three spots from its position during the previous month).

The CPO Chevrolet Camaro popped up, coming in at No. 7 in Boston, after not being on the list in that DMA in August.

Lastly, the Dodge Challenger came in at No. 10 in Los Angeles (it was not on the list in that DMA the previous month). The used Dodge Challenger came in at No. 9 in Boston (it was not on the list in that DMA the previous month).

Though movement within the muscle car brands in September catches the eye, national trends remained mostly consistent from August with a few familiar names.

The Porsche Cayman took the No. 1 spot nationally on the CPO list, while the CPO Toyota Land Cruiser moved up three spots to land at No. 2.

On the used side, the Lotus Evora topped the list, with the BMW M Series in the No. 2 spot.

And the Hyundai Genesis — both CPO and used versions — is still showing as being scarce across several DMAs, as follows:

•    The CPO Hyundai Genesis came in at No. 6 in Boston and at No. 1 in San Francisco/Oakland/San Jose. It was not on the list in either DMA the previous month.

•    The used Hyundai Genesis Coupe came in at No. 5 in Boston and at No. 3 in Dallas/Ft. Worth. It was not on the list in any of those DMAs during the previous month.

•    The CPO Hyundai Genesis Coupe came in at No. 7 in Philadelphia (it was not on the list in that DMA the previous month).
