OAKVILLE, Ontario -

After opening its doors in September, Porsche Centre Oakville has sold more than 62 Porsches.

To provide a comparison, in September, there were 333 new Porsches sold in all of Canada.

The OEM says this success reaffirms Porsche’s growth strategy for Canada.

"Porsche actively seeks ways to stretch boundaries," said Francesco Policaro, general manager for Porsche Centre Oakville. "We're committed to making our Porsche Centre the most exciting outpost for Porsche this side of the Porsche factory in Zuffenhausen, Germany."

The new dealership services the western Greater Toronto Area including Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton and surrounding communities.

At a recent ribbon-cutting gala for the dealership, Porsche executives from Canada, North America and the European headquarters made up a portion of the more than 800 guests.

Bernhard Maier, member of the executive board for sales and marketing with Porsche AG in Germany, said, "Canada represents a special market for us. Canada's performance has brought it to the forefront as one of the most dynamic and fastest growing markets. Although I have the opportunity to attend new dealership openings around the globe, the opening of Porsche Centre Oakville feels very special."

Also on tap for the gala were new and vintage Porsche displays, including a custom 911 by Magnus Walker, owner of the Urban Outlaw Shop in California.

The new Porsche dealership includes a 22-vehicle showroom and a 20-vehicle pre-owned display.
