MAGOG, Québec -

Canadian auto superstore HGrégoire recently launched its second franchise in Québec, hosting an official grand opening of HGrégoire Canada’s Car Superstore Estrie.

The dealership will service the needs of customers in the Eastern Townships and offers what the company says is the largest  physical pre-owned inventory in the region.

More than 300 people attended the store’s grand opening, with several guests of honor among them. These included Magog, Québec mayor Vicky May Hamm; Pierre Reid, who is the member of the national assembly for Orford; and professional race-car driver Isabelle Tremblay.

Tremblay has spent most of her time in the NASCAR circuit, where she has been sponsored by HGrégoire.

Sharing what the new dealership entails, officials noted that it will be operated by Centre Honda Estrie co-owners Dominic Duhamel and Christina Saint-Pierre.

It brings in 30 new jobs, which augments the 125 jobs already provided by Centre Honda Estrie. Officials said that $2.5 million was pumped into the facility, which includes room for more than 200 vehicles throughout its two floors and interior courtyard. The dealership also includes a service garage, body shop and detailing center.

“Since we opened our doors barely a month ago, we have been impressed by the number of consumers, which have remained well above our projections,” Duhamel stated. “There is clearly a demand to be met in pre-owned vehicles, and we are proud to have been chosen as the Townships’ ambassadors for HGrégoire, a brand we know to be synonymous with quality and selection at competitive prices.”

Claude Sincennes, executive vice president of HGrégoire, commented further, noting: “Dominic and Christian’s team have solid experience and an excellent reputation in the Townships, and we are confident that they can apply our business model successfully here.

“Our goal is to consolidate our growth in various regions so that we can easily reach our customers. We feel that this new franchise is another step in the right direction,” Sincennes continued.

Sincennes added that HGrégoire plans to announce the grand opening of a Québec City franchise in the near future.

HGrégoire is looking to bring its franchise count up to six in the next two years. Sincennes said the company hopes to find a new partner for the Outaouais region.
