ORLAND PARK, Ill. -

One of the nation’s dealer groups expanded its footprint this week, with the announcement of the acquisition of a luxury brand dealership.

Continuing its expansion with the acquisition of Chicago-area BMW of Orland Park is the Zeigler Automotive Group, which finalized the sale earlier this summer.

BMW of Orland Park opened under Zeigler ownership on July 29, offering more than 300 new and 80 pre-owned vehicles. The store was named the 2013 Dealer of the Year by DealerRater, Ziegler officials noted.

“We are excited to add such a successful dealership to our Chicago locations and to our brand,” said Aaron Zeigler, president of Zeigler Automotive Group. “BMW dealerships are rarely on the market and we're proud to now own the dealership.

“The two-story facility is elegant and spacious, with all the comforts and conveniences customers could ever want,” he said. “We’ll continue to build on the dealership’s success and ensure every guest has a great experience.”

BMW of Orland Park features a new facility on just over nine acres, and more than 60,000 square feet for BMW sales, service, parts and financing needs, the company said, including a showroom to display up to 18 BMW models.

The dealership also includes 24 air-conditioned service bays and more than 60 BMW loaner vehicles.

Zeigler will hire additional staff members as the dealership grows, officials said.

The dealership acquisition adds the BMW brand to Zeigler’s Chicago area locations, in addition to dealership locations in Michigan, Indiana and New York. A grand opening event is reportedly scheduled for later this summer.
