CHESAPEAKE, Va. -

Tidewater Auto Auction management offered an update Monday about the ongoing construction of its new facility.

Robert Nolan indicated work is on pace for Tidewater AA to move into its new space next March. The new facility consists of 72 acres just eight miles away from where Nolan and the rest of the staff currently operate.

A steel-supported overhang will cover half of the auction’s bays, Nolan said.

Tidewater AA usually has close to 1,400 vehicles at its weekly sales that are often attended by close to 500 dealers. He calls it one of the largest auctions in southeastern Virginia.
