Just like how your smartphone goes through software updates regularly, ACV Auctions on Tuesday rolled out more than a half dozen enhancements across the ACV Marketplace. These are designed to help dealers buy and sell vehicles with greater speed, confidence, and efficiency.

Among the selling enhancements:

—Scheduled auction: Designed to take the speculation out of when and how to sell by recommending the optimal launch date, time, and reserve price based on each vehicle and marketplace demand to maximize buyer engagement and sale price.

—Recommended auction duration: Offers high-performing dealers the most effective four-hour and 24-hour auction durations, alongside an enhanced, data-informed listing experience, based on vehicle characteristics such as age and ACV estimate range.

—Bidding engagement meter: Can helps sellers predict success prior to launch, gauging buyer interest through a visual indicator of likely engagement based on recommended low reserve and no reserve pricing.

Among the buying enhancements:

—Search results page: Made to gives buyers more control by surfacing the right vehicles in less time through streamlined navigation across marketplace lanes, the ability to hide auctions and vehicle cards, and artificial intelligence-powered recommended sorting that can personalize search results based on bidding history, local inventory, and competitive pricing.

—Saved search: Can fine-tune searches using condition inclusions and exclusions across exterior, frame, mechanicals, titles, and history to best align with buying strategies.

—Buyer notes: Can capture specific insights, observations, questions, and reminders while shopping by adding 100% private notes on the Vehicle Details Page.

—Recommended badging: Displays “priced to sell” and “nearby” badges to help dealers quickly identify the most relevant buying opportunities.

—Extended buying opportunities: Can enables buyers more time to discover and appraise inventory through longer-duration auctions and dedicated preview periods for featured marketplace events.

ACV explained these moves were built on data from millions of vehicle inspections, marketplace transactions, and years of dealer feedback. ACV said its latest Marketplace updates simplify the wholesale buying and selling experience by removing guesswork for sellers and helping buyers identify the right opportunities faster through intelligent, data-driven workflows.

“Every enhancement we’ve made has stemmed from direct conversations with our dealers,” ACV chief operating officer Vikas Mehta said in a news release. “Our dealer partners have told us they want to spend less time searching, less time second-guessing, and more time efficiently running their businesses.

“Our Marketplace improvements are designed to do exactly that. Whether recommending the best time to launch an auction or personalizing the buying experience around a dealer’s specific inventory sourcing needs, we’re putting actionable insights into their workflow while keeping dealers in the driver’s seat,” Mehta went on to say.
