The list of Carvana’s combined auction-reconditioning facilities continues to grow.
The online used-car retailer announced it is adding inspection and reconditioning center to its ADESA Syracuse wholesale auction site, making it the 17th such operation nationwide.
Carvana said the integration creates additional recon capacity and a new inventory pool in its national network to support greater selection for retail customers nationwide, faster delivery speeds for New York car buyers and stronger offerings for local wholesale customers.
“Integrating IRC capabilities at ADESA Syracuse is another step forward in building a faster, more efficient, more productive Carvana network,” senior vice president of inventory Brian Boyd said. “We’re excited to keep expanding our team and presence in Central New York as we drive selection and speed for customers locally and nationwide.”
Carvana has begun hiring for the site’s expansion and expects create some 200 new jobs in inspection, reconditioning and vehicle fulfillment.
“Carvana’s expansion in Central New York is a powerful example of how strategic investment can drive economic growth, create good-paying jobs and strengthen local communities,” Paul Zuber, executive vice president of The Business Council of New York State, said in a news release. “By bringing new inspection and reconditioning capabilities to Syracuse, this initiative not only boosts employment but also reinforces New York’s position as a hub for innovation and modern infrastructure.”

The ADESA Syracuse site in Cicero, N.Y., has served as a wholesale auto auction for nearly 50 years. The site’s approximately 150 acres and more than 6,800 parking spaces provide the infrastructure to support IRC operations alongside wholesale auction operations.
As with the other integrated facilities, Carvana said the expanded ADESA Syracuse operation will establish a new pool of retail inventory, giving customers in the Syracuse area access to a broader vehicle selection with delivery options as soon as the next day, while offering enhanced wholesale buyers on-site inspection and recon capabilities in addition to ADESA’s in-lane and digital auction services.
