Edmunds.com to ‘Take Over’ St. Louis Dealership for Unique Sales Opportunity

Changing up the car buying experience a bit, Edmunds.com will be setting up shop at a St. Louis dealership as Bommarito Nissan / Honda / Volkswagen / Ford of Hazelwood allows the site to “take over” its showrooms.
During this event — scheduled for Friday through Monday — every new car will be available at no-haggle prices guaranteed through Edmunds.com’s Price Promise service.
Through this new service, a car shopper who is interested in a car listed on the site can receive the dealer’s guaranteed price by entering their name, phone number and email address.
“All of Edmunds.com’s current initiatives — including this ‘takeover’ and the new Price Promise service now available on our Web site – help car shoppers have an easier car buying experience,” says Edmunds.com president Seth Berkowitz.
“This weekend’s takeover proves that an easier car shopping experience is in the best interests of both car buyers and dealers, and demonstrates that forward-thinking dealerships like Bommarito are on board to deliver.”
Additionally, Edmunds.com experts will be on hand to objectively answer car shoppers’ questions and advise them throughout the sales process during the St. Louis event.
“As a leader in our market, we jumped at the chance to provide this exclusive car-shopping opportunity to the St. Louis community,” said Jerry Eickel, partner and general manager of Bommarito Nissan / Honda / Volkswagen / Ford of Hazelwood. “We’re focused on making our customers feel good about their car purchases, and that will be even easier with representatives of the trusted brand Edmunds.com available on site to help them go through the process.”
And there has already been talk of expanding the Prime Promise program to the used and leasing side of the business.
“We believe so strongly in the concept of Price Promise and the results that we’ve seen that we’ve decided to do a couple of things. One is to make that our product suite for the future, and to tick off other consumer pain points at the top of the list and solve them through our Promise suite,” Berkowitz said in a press conference earlier this month.
“Coming in the next number of months, and what we’re planning for the next National (Auto) Dealers Association (Convention & Expo) is a product called Lease Promise, which essentially is going to give people actual leases that they could receive on cars,” he added.
“And ultimately, the Promise suite will round itself out through used cars, both with respect to the actual purchase of them and trade in, as well. But that will be over the course of 2014.”
