Manheim Chooses New Chief People Officer

Manheim said Thursday it has chosen as new vice president and chief people officer to replace Lilicia Bailey, who is retiring from the company.
Filling the role is Rock Anderson. The promotion is effective July 1.
“Rock has been an important part of Manheim leadership for many years, as a key advisor to the senior executive team and as an advocate for our employees,” said Sandy Schwartz, president of Manheim. “As Rock takes on this vital leadership role, I know I will be able to count on his experience, judgment and perspective to prepare the best workforce in the industry for future success.”
Anderson is coming into his new role after serving as human resources leader at Manheim for more than seven years.
“Anderson has a deep understanding of the business and employee culture. He also has well-established relationships with key business and community leaders,” the company said.
Anderson most recently served as vice president of people strategies for Manheim, where he was responsible for all human resources functions, including overseeing corporate and field operations, security and employment practices.
The company explained that “his strategic input played a key role in many people strategies successes, including recognition from the Atlanta chapter of the Society of Human Resources and the Atlanta Regional Commission.”
Anderson succeeds Bailey who was with Manheim for the past 10 years, most recently as senior vice president and chief people officer.
“Her many achievements included developing a high-functioning human resources team, building strategic alignment between Manheim’s North American, U.K. and Australian teams, and leading an effective and diverse business services team that included human resources, compensation, talent management and recruiting, business services, employment practices and communications and corporate affairs,” the company concluded.
Manheim Portland Celebrates Earth Day
In other recent company news, the employees at Manheim Portland voted earlier this year on a community outreach project for Earth Day in April.
The votes came in, and the winning organization was the SOLVE Oregon group, a nonprofit that aims to “bring together Oregonians to improve the environment and to build a legacy of stewardship.”
In late April, Manheim Portland employees volunteered their time to participate in the 22nd Annual SOLVE Sauvie Island Earth Day Cleanup.
Manheim Portland employees helped clean approximately 39 acres of the island, and removed 74,260 pounds of trash from the scenic nature and wildlife preserve area.
“This was a wonderful event that provided Manheim Portland employees and their families an opportunity to give back to their community and make a difference,” said Ray Priest, general manager for Manheim Portland.
