Manheim Talks National Auto Auction Week

Another major player in the auction business has announced its plans for the upcoming National Auto Auction Week, which is sponsored by the National Auto Auction Association and kicks off Monday.
Manheim said its North American auctions are participating in the big event and will utilize social media, including Facebook and Twitter, to help spread the word and generate awareness of National Auto Auction Week, which runs through Aug. 23.
The week was created by NAAA to foster public awareness of the remarketing industry and its contributions both nationally and locally.
“On behalf of the entire Manheim team, I would like to thank our customers, partners and dedicated employees for their commitment to advance the auction industry,” said Sandy Schwartz, president of Manheim and AutoTrader Group.
“Over the years, NAAA and its members have played a key role on important issues affecting our industry. Member collaboration, advocacy and strong support have reinforced NAAA’s leadership position, while helping to further our work together. I also want to extend my personal congratulations to NAAA on celebrating its 65th anniversary.”
Manheim includes 69 auction locations in North America and it partners with 166 independent auctions to remarket vehicles via OVE.com.
Like NAAA, Manheim’s history stretches back about seven decades.
“National Auto Auction Week is a wonderful opportunity to recognize the many individuals that contribute to the success of wholesale auto auctions,” said Jay Cadigan, vice president, industry relations at Manheim and executive vice president for NAAA. “This week is about highlighting the vital importance that wholesale auctions provide to our economy, industry, customers and employees.”
