NIADA Recognizes Auction of Year

The National Independent Automobile Dealers Association announced their Auto Auction of the Year award at last week’s National Auto Auction Association Convention in Indianapolis, and taking home the honors was Dealers Auto Auction of the Rockies.
Auction owners Brad Sturgeon and Bill Baker along with general manager Michele Noblitt were presented the award during the NAAA Convention.
NIADA executive vice president Steve Jordan said DAA of the Rockies “has proven its business excellence over the years and is noted for outstanding customer service, consistently going above and beyond as the staff strives to put their clients first. The auction is also very involved in the industry and supportive of its state association, including charity efforts such as the Wounded Warrior project.”
Among its numerous fundraisers and campaigns benefitting the community has been an annual live charity auction. The funds of more than $23,000 that have been raised by this charity auction over the past three years have fully funded a week-long camp for abused and neglected children in the foster system, helped support the local Big Brother/Big Sister organization and its mentoring program and raised funds for “Help Out Not Hand Outs.” The latter is a group helping veterans in preparing for success in the future.
NIADA also pointed out that DAA of the Rockies’ fleet manager has actively participated in the Big Brother/Big Sister mentoring program for five years as a Big Sister.
Elsewhere in its charitable endeavors, DAA of the Rockies hosted a pet drive supporting local animal shelters, launched a “Quit Smoking” campaign among its employees to foster a healthy lifestyle, and hosted multiple toy and food drives during holiday seasons.
Additionally, the auction helped one of its employees in participating in the 2013 Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.
Since 2008, NIADA has been giving this award each year to an outstanding auction that “provides the highest level of customer service and resources for NIADA’s independent dealers, displays support for its state association and its dealer members and participates in dealer events and promotes the industry by showing exceptional service to its local community.”
