Cox Automotive has parted with one of its international businesses.

UFODrive Group, parent company of UFOFLEET, announced it has acquired FleetMaster from Cox, a deal UFOFLEET said accelerates its mission to “reshape the $500 billion fleet and mobility market.”

UFOFLEET plans to equip and scale FleetMaster’s established platform for rental, leasing and retail, with “intelligent infrastructure” provided by its technology, which is used by Hertz and Merchants Fleet.

“The industry is at an inflection point,” UFOFLEET CEO Aidan McClean said. “UFOFLEET customers define the future of fleet and mobility. After passing 1 million users and smashing every KPI since launch in 2023, we looked for partners and targets to accelerate our mission to transform the industry and drive opportunities that otherwise take years.

“FleetMaster is an exceptional first acquisition that doubles our footprint and brings UFOFLEET’s intelligence to new industry leaders.”

FleetMaster was founded in Belgium in 2011 and expanded its cloud-based fleet software business throughout Europe before it was acquired by Cox in 2021.

Cox Automotive Europe Paul Humphreys said the company made the decision to sell after seeing the business’ potential with UFOFLEET, which was recognized as an Innovation Leader in Mobility and Automotive Tech 2025 by Frost & Sullivan, and as the overall winner of this year’s Hitachi Global Mobility Challenge.

“Working with UFOFLEET over the past year, it became clear that this was the path to ensuring excellence and evolution for our customers,” he said. “This acquisition is an exciting opportunity to build on FleetMaster’s success with a game-changing platform.”
