LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -

Through a new collaboration between Black Book and car buying platform Your Auto Advocate,  the platform will provide its members with Black Book data.

The collaboration involves integration of Black Book’s valuation and enhanced vehicle matching VIN-Decoding data into Your Auto Advocate.

The companies say that with the enhanced data provided, dealers and consumers will be able to avoid killing a deal over a trade-in value.

Providing members with Black Book data can help them be better prepared to discuss the true value of their trade when navigating that major component of any car deal.

Your Auto Advocate, which says it saves time and money for consumers when they purchase a vehicle, also says it will help dealers by solving what it describes as the No. 1 issue when it comes to closing a deal: the trade.

Your Auto Advocate chief executive officer and co-founder Zach Shefska said that with Black Book’s enhanced, VIN-precise data, Your Auto Advocate can provide trade-in quotes to its members and that the members can be confident in those quotes.

“By giving our members the most precise data possible, we both help to set the consumer’s expectations and help a dealer avoid ‘sticker shock’ disappointment when a prospective customer sees a value that’s lower than they were expecting,” Shefska said in a news release.

Your Auto Advocate said it coaches car buyers on fast and fair deals and provides consumers with tools to make them more confident in the car buying process.

Consumers who possess more data are more confident and ready to transact when they walk into a dealership, said Black Book executive vice president of revenue Jared Kalfus.

Kalfus said, “Your Auto Advocate gives consumers the tools they need to understand how the sales process works, which helps dealers close more deals, faster.”
