HOUSTON -

Sonic Automotive is partnering with Dave Ward & Friends Podcast to raise funds for the Houston Children’s Charity. This is a non-profit organization focused on improving the quality of life for Greater Houston's underprivileged, abused and disabled children.

Sonic will be launching a June service lane promotion at its 16 Houston locations to support these philanthropic efforts. This month, visitors to any one of these locations can mention they are a “friend of Dave Ward,” and make a charitable donation in the amount of one dollar or more to the Houston Children’s Charity.

These donations will then be applied as a credit to their service bill, and Sonic is matching each donation dollar for dollar. One hundred percent of donations will go to the Houston Children’s Charity to directly benefit children in need.

“Sonic Automotive is proud to be a part of the Houston community, and honored to join hands with Dave Ward and Friends and Houston Children’s Charity to raise the quality of life and standard of care for underprivileged children,” said David Smith, CEO of Sonic Automotive and EchoPark Automotive, in a news release. “Sonic has a rich heritage of community involvement, and we are committed to helping those in need.”

Further,  “friends of Dave Ward” will also receive the below:

  • 25% off any service or repair with a maximum savings of $150 with code “DWFRIEND”

  • $500 in cash towards the purchase of a new vehicle

  • $250 in cash towards the purchase of a pre-owned vehicle

  • $500 in trade in cash

To kick off the month of charitable efforts and the service promotion, Sonic and EchoPark president Jeff Dyke will be a guest on the next episode of the Dave Ward & Friends Podcast, airing today at 5 p.m. CDT. Dyke is a Houston native, and lived there until 2005, when he made the move to Sonic’s headquarters in Charlotte, N.C. Tune in here to listen live to Dyke’s episode.
