Charleston Auto Auction announced that it celebrated a consingment record for institutional accounts at its recent 9th Annual Luau/Pig Pickin’ & Car Sale.
Additionally, there were more than 650 dealers on hand and more than 1,400 units up for sale. The event also included over $35,000 in cash and prizes, and attendees were treated to barbecue and a steel drum band.
As for the record, officials noted: “Of the 1400-plus vehicles offered for sale, institutional accounts consigned a record-breaking 430 units from accounts including Wheels Inc., ARI, Enterprise Holdings, Mike Albert Leasing, MarkOne Financial, Barnett Finance and many more.”
They went on to note that there were more than 400 units in the new-car dealer trade lane and more than 600 units in the independent dealer and wholesaler lanes.
“It was a great sale. Both buyers and sellers left happy, not to mention the dealers who split the $35,000 in cash & prizes," stated Laura Taylor, the auction’s
general manager.
