MONTREAL -

Kia Canada and its Montreal-area dealers have teamed up with the city’s pro soccer team to raise awareness for a cause devoted to preventing and finding a cure for prostate cancer.

All this week, area Kia dealers have been offering test drives for $10 donations, with the proceeds going to PROCURE’s fight against this disease. The dealers are running this campaign through Friday; and then on Saturday, there will donations collected during the Montreal Impact’s opening match at Stade Saputo.

Sunday is the PROCURE Walk/Run of Courage, which is being held at Parc Jean-Drapeau. It will include a Father’s Day Breakfast and then a 5K walk/run.

“Prostate cancer is an extremely important issue in today’s society, and Kia is pleased to be involved in Driving Change and awareness for the PROCURE cause,” stated Maria Soklis, Kia Canada’s vice president and chief operating officer. “This Father’s Day weekend will give the public an opportunity to learn more about how they too can Drive Change against the most common cancer among Canadian men.”

PROCURE executive director Malvina Klag applauded Kia Canada, adding: “One in seven men will be diagnosed with this disease; the numbers are staggering. It’s time that men stand up for their health.”

Impact president Joey Saputo chimed in, noting: “It is important for us to continue to help PROCURE with increased determination. I would like to thank Kia Canada for their participation and desire to help educate the public about this cause. We invite you to give generously on June 16th during the game at Stade Saputo.”
