WASHINGTON, D.C. -

The National Automobile Dealers Association revealed its 2012 chairman and vice chairman on Wednesday after the board of directors held a vote the previous day in Washington, D.C.

Appointed to serve as chairman for next year is William Underriner, who currently serves as vice chairman of NADA.

Meanwhile, the board also elected David Westcott to the role of 2012 vice chairman during the same NADA conference in the nation’s capitol.

Both of these men will step into their new roles when the 2012 NADA-ATD Convention gets underway Feb. 3 through Feb. 6 in Las Vegas.

“I’m honored that my peers have elected me for this position,” Underriner noted. “I’m looking forward to the challenges ahead and the unknown because you never know what can happen in the auto industry.”

Underriner is the president and co-owner of Underriner Motors in Billings, Mont. His franchises include Buick, Honda, Hyundai and Volvo stores.

Underriner has been NADA treasurer three times and is his state’s representative on the NADA board. His experience with NADA also includes time serving on the Executive, Industry Relations, Dealership Operations and Membership Committees, in addition to chairing the association’s Finance and Convention Committees.

Westcott, meanwhile, is president of the David Westcott Buick GMC Suzuki, which is located in Burlington, N.C. He serves as the Tar Heel State’s representative on NADA’s board and is also the NADA Dealership Operations Committee’s chairman.

Westcott serves on the Industry Relations Committee, while serving on the board of trustees for the Dealers Election Action Committee.

He has chaired DEAC previously and has also held that same role for the Government Relations and Regulatory Affairs Committees.
