QoreAI CEO Todd Smith interacts with dealerships regularly that either scoff at artificial intelligence or fear it more than a potential buyer walking away from accepting the car deal and delivery at the closing stage.
To help dealerships that fall into both of those categories, Smith recently released The Dealership AI Security Guidebook. He highlighted this free digital resource includes 15 tactical steps to stay safe, smart and in control as AI “takes over” auto retail.
“AI isn’t just another technology trend. It’s a paradigm shift and a security minefield. But the deeper reality is that AI is fundamentally restructuring how dealerships operate, make decisions, and interact with data,” Smith wrote.
“Dealerships are evolving into digital-first environments. Every customer call, website visit, pricing decision, and service interaction now flows through systems augmented or influenced by AI. That means every decision made by your team — or by your systems on their behalf — is increasingly being guided by algorithms that may not be fully understood or controllable,” he continued.
“This isn’t a call to fear AI. It’s a call to own it. You must take responsibility for every AI agent, every data integration, and every machine-made decision in your store,” Smith went on to say.
