ATLANTA and COCOA BEACH, Fla. -

From new routes to new savings programs, Allied Automotive Group and National Transport LLC each announced updates this week to the way they do business.

Calling its initiative an industry first, Allied Automotive Group announced the Super-Saver Daily Specials program which offers auto shippers daily online access to numerous North American routes at reduced, all-inclusive rates.

The routes are posted on the Allied Autotmotive website each morning, and an e-commerce platform allows transactions to be completed online.

Allied vice president Roger Panella explained, “We launched our Super-Saver program because too often our drivers return to their home terminals empty. So we decided to make these routes available to customers at significantly lower rates, and post the deals on our website every day. We also like that this is a green initiative, so we’re not logging so many empty miles.”

The program requires daily coordination between Allied’s terminals and drivers, Central Dispatch operation, and IT pros, the company said, to efficiently compile deals and all-inclusive pricing that covers taxes, fuel costs and all transportation expenses.

“With transport specials offered daily, customers must decide on a deal quickly before it’s gone,” Panella continued. “All-inclusive pricing lets customers know exactly what they’ll pay. They just click a route on our Super-Saver page, select the number of vehicles to ship, and make the reservation right there. Then an Allied rep calls them immediately to confirm and arrange shipping that same day.”

The Allied Super-Saver Daily Specials web page is organized by U.S. states and Canadian provinces, the company said, with that day’s route specials assembled by city origins and destinations. Customers reserve either online or via a toll-free number.

Because each route and rig is different, specials are displayed for vehicle classifications including passenger cars; SUVs/light trucks; medium-duty trucks; specialty vehicles and more. Storage specials are also available.

Allied said it plans to expand the number of routes offered, and welcomes customer input and requests for new routes.

In other auto transport news this week, National Transport announced new routes from the Los Angeles area to the Houston area the company says are designed for the ease of car transport customers.

Most vehicles can be picked up and shipped in a matter of days, the company said.

Auto transport customers use a six-question online quote form to receive an auto transport quote instantly, National Transport said. The six questions include vehicle make, model and running status, shipping preference, and pickup and delivery locations.
