Dealers Win Big at Auction ‘Mega Mystery Sale’

A recent sale at Charleston Auto Auction offered more than vehicles; there were prize “mysteries” solved, too.
Charleston Auto Auction hosted its latest promotion, the Mega Mystery Sale, on Oct. 19, reporting more than 1,300 vehicles and 650 dealers in attendance.
But the sale also featured 24 wrapped boxes each containing the name of a “Mystery Prize” inside. The auction said that following the sale, dealers were selected from a barrel of tickets which had been collected the previous six weeks for every transaction they completed.
Mystery Prize winners included three dealers who walked away with $5,000 each; other prizes awarded included ceramic grills, iPads, tool boxes, TVs, and custom desks.
The 117 dealers attending the sale online were also eligible for prizes, with the top two online buyers each winning a Kindle Fire HD.
“It was a great day. Our dealers always love the variety of vehicles and buyers we offer. By also giving them the opportunity to win cash and prizes, they can’t be anything but happy,” said general manager Laura Taylor.
The sale itself offered more than 400 franchise dealer trades from more than 35 new-car stores, CAA said, while institutional accounts ran more than 375 vehicles, and independent dealers and wholesalers consigned more than 550 vehicles.
Charleston Auto Auction is a member of the American Auto Auction Group. It holds a sale every Friday at 10 a.m.
