CARY, N.C. -

There are more than 3,000 miles and almost an entire continent between David Wilson Automotive Group in Orange, Calif., and AutoFair Automotive Group in Manchester, N.H.

But one thing these two dealership groups — and 123 others scattered from Honolulu to Horsham, Pa. — have in common is their membership in “The Top 125 Used-Car Dealers Groups.”

Auto Remarketing has highlighted the 125 dealership groups that sold the most retail used vehicles in 2011.

To see the complete list — which is sponsored by Kelley Blue Book’s Kbb.com — visit http://www.autoremarketing.com/top-125-used-car-dealers-groups.

In a special section of the June 15 print issue of the publication, we list these retailers in order, while showcasing the highest-ranked groups and select others with info-graphics that share more about how they succeed in the used-car market and more.

And some of these groups are expected to offer their insight on the used-vehicle industry even further at the upcoming 2012 Auto Remarketing Used Car Week conference series.

In fact, one of those groups near the top of the list — Sonic Automotive Group, which sold 102,873 used retail units in 2011 to come in at No. 4 — will be respresented.

The man who heads up the used-vehicle business for Sonic – corporate used-car director Hal McLarty – had already signed on to offer his used-car insights during the event.

Used Car Week is being held Nov. 12–16 at The Phoenician in Scottsdale, Ariz. It kicks off with the “CPO Dealer Forum – Real Dealers. Real Experience. Real Profits.” event, which is on tap for Nov. 12-13.

Then on Nov. 14, Used Car Week will feature the “Re3 – Recovery. Repossession. Remarketing.” conference, which will be followed by the “National Remarketing Conference – Great Minds. Big Ideas. Solid Results.” from Nov. 14–16.

With educational sessions focusing on dealer-specific interests, remarketer education and legal/compliance issues, Used Car Week will not only bring the industry together for valuable relevant insights, but will also provide distinct, targeted information for each of these industry segments.

And conference organizers anticipate that additional top used-car dealer group leaders will soon join Sonic’s McLarty in this growing lineup. With close to 700 attendees, and more than 100 different dealerships and dealer groups in attendance at the 2011 event, Used Car Week promises to bring the highest caliber of speakers in the industry. The 2011 Used Car Week attendee list can be found here.

Additionally, the Call for Speakers for Used Car Week is now open, as well. If you are interested in presenting, submit your proposal to be a speaker to bzadeits@autoremarketing.com with the subject line UCW 2012 SPEAKER SUBMISSION. In the email, be sure to include your contact information, your proposed topic and a brief description of what you would be presenting.

And to learn more about Sonic and all of The Top 125 Used-Car Dealer Groups, be sure to catch the June 15 edition of Auto Remarketing. There you can find more information about what makes these groups tick, but in the meantime, a complete list of these leading groups can be found at  http://www.autoremarketing.com/top-125-used-car-dealers-groups.
