CarLotz reached the closing stage of a busy second quarter by announcing plans to open its first hub in Georgia.
On Thursday, the consignment-to-retail used vehicle marketplace highlighted this new hub will provide CarLotz’s customers in the greater Atlanta area with easy access to its service, value and inventory.
The company said this new hub located at 4400 Stone Mountain Highway in Lilburn is expected to open later this year.
“We believe that being national in reach is critical but serving local communities is a competitive advantage.” CarLotz co-founder and chief executive officer Michael Bor said in a news release. “We have sold cars on consignment for and sold cars to Georgians through our online marketplace for years, and now, we are thrilled to open this hub that will serve area guests with even greater ease and convenience.
“We are excited to be able to provide guests in Georgia with greater access to our consignment model while also becoming a part of the community in which our teammates live and work,” Bor continued.
This Georgia expansion plan arrived after CarLotz topped its guidance for unit sales and revenue during the first quarter as well as other major moves during Q2, including:
— CarLotz to open new HQ, expected to be added to Russell indexes
— CarLotz expands presence in Virginia with new Charlottesville location
— CarLotz expands in Midwest, West with 2 new locations
— CarLotz to open third Florida hub
